A Balanced Diet is a cookie in each hand – Barabara Johnson.

Cookies, be it with chocolate chips, raisins, almonds, or berries- incite a feeling of nostalgia in a person. Especially the chocolate ones with a glass of milk or a cup of tea or coffee remind a person of their childhood’s innocent and fun times.

These were life’s little pleasures when calories, weight, health, and, most importantly, white flour didn’t bother anyone. The only concern was to relish and gorge on these biscuits.

But now, the buttery, gooey batch of cookies is looked at suspiciously. Nutritionists and health experts have advised reducing food responsible for tipping-the-weighing scale on the wrong side for a healthy body. They aren’t incorrect, you know, because people tend to munch on these irresistible savories to their heart’s content.

So, this means one shouldn’t consume cookies at all?

The answer is No. Taking a sabbatical from your favorite breakfast option is not required.

A healthy tweak, and Viola! Cookies are back on the menu.

A minor reminder-the softness, flavor, and sweetness will all vary. But something is better than nothing.

We are presenting 5  Cookie recipes filled with chock-full-of-good ingredients for you. And are simple and easy to prepare at home.

5 Healthy Cookie Recipes

The essential ingredients for baking a yummy batch of cookies are flour, sugar, and butter. Variations in the form of wheat, sugar alternatives like jaggery and honey can be used. Instead of butter -white butter, coconut oil, and olive oil make them nutritious.

a. Wheat Flour and Walnut cookies:

Add wheat flour or atta, baking powder, powdered sugar (substitutes), and coffee powder in a sieve. Mix it gently and strain it into the beaten butter. Make small balls and place them on a greased baking tray. Flatten the top slightly and add halved walnuts. Bake in a preheated oven for approx. 15 mins.

b. Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies:

Ah, now this is another winner. Oats are generally considered a beneficial alternative to cereals. Similarly, in the case of cookies, add oats, almond flour, almond butter, brown sugar, and finally, the sinful chocolate chip cookies.

c. Chocolate Chip Cookies

Delectable and an absolute favorite from a six-year-old to a sixty-year-old – Chocolate Chip cookies are savored by all. But how to increase the nourishment quotient?

Mix oats, cold-pressed coconut oil, dark chocolate, unsalted butter, eggs, and honey in a bowl.

Make a dough, and roll out little balls.

Flatten the top slightly on a greased oven tray and decorate with chocolate chips and bake.

d, Fruit Cake Cookies:

Fruit cakes are undoubtedly delicious, especially during festivities. But these grandma’s beloved recipes can be prepared otherwise to relive the jolly times. Mix dried apricots, figs, raisins, and other fruits with flour, sugar/ alternatives, and butter. Those who eat eggs can add a large one and beat it till it’s fluffy. Once the dough is ready, divide them into two logs. Flatten the top and freeze for a bit. After which, on a baking sheet, place sliced pieces of the cookies and bake.

e. Coconut Cookies

Coconut cookies are a perfect substitute for sweet cravings, especially if you burn calories at the gym. A simple yet delightful concoction will be a mix of flaked coconut, wheat flour, sugar, baking soda, vanilla extract, white butter, and a pinch of salt.

So, these are the five healthy cookie recipes you can make at home. When people say, ‘I’m trying to lose weight, so ‘I won’t eat cookies, chocolates, etc.,’ it is a bit harsh on oneself. And complete abstinence will only end up in increased cravings.

So, folks, eat in moderation; a couple of cookies with your favorite beverage will make you feel fantastic!

BBye…..
